3rd Annual US Navy SEAL Danny Dietz Memorial Team Roping
For a pro to enter the open ( $10,000 added 80% payback $200 per man enter upto 3times) they need to be available to rope in the pro am. The SEALs and widows would like the opportunity to visit with the pros and personally thank them for coming out and showing support so were asking the pros to be open to talking with people.
This year’s US Navy SEAL Danny Dietz Memorial Team Roping will be held in Rosenberg, TX Memorial weekend. We have combined with Tyler Magnus Memorial Day roping. This event should be huge. David Key (9 time NFR qualifier and 2011 George Strait and 2011 Windy Ryon Memorial Champion Heeler) has agreed to be a part of the open roping on Sunday and the Match roping with Tyler Magnus on Saturday. The other 2 ropers will be named later as well as the head line entertainer however The Scooter Brown Band will start Saturday’s night entertainment. In addition to this Tyler Magus will start advertising the roping on his national show starting in January / February 2012.
Please take a few minutes to read below about US Navy SEAL Danny Dietz and why we are doing this. The 3rd Memorial Team Roping will be held over Memorial Day Weekend at the Ft Bend County Fairgrounds in Rosenberg, TX and will be televised on RFD/TV “Riding and Roping with Tyler Magnus” there will be a concert on the grounds. Thank you again for supporting our troops because without them we would not have the life styles you and I along with our families enjoy so much.
Danny Dietz was a Navy SEAL killed in action on June 28, 2005 during "Operation Red Wings" along with fellow Navy SEAL’s Michael Murphy and Matthew Axelson. The only survivor was Marcus Luttrell, a native Texan, They were killed when they were ambushed by over 100 Taliban fighters. The rescue mission that ensued, 16 Special Forces personnel, including 8 SEALs, died when their helicopter was shot down by Taliban fighters. The location of Dietz' body was unknown for seven days. Navy SEAL Danny Dietz’s remains were recovered during a combat search and rescue operation on July 4, 2005 - the largest single loss of life for Naval Special Warfare since World War II.
Last year’s roping, silent auction and after party were a big success and the proceeds were donated to the NSWF in Danny's name. The Navy SEAL Foundation (NSWF) is a 501c3 and serves a fundamental role within the SEAL and SWCC community.
- A Memorial account where the money raised from the team roping will donate a monetary scholarship on Danny's behalf to a SEALs child.
- Money raised during the roping will also, on Danny's behalf, be donated to a SEAL’s family. It’s our goal to be able to give directly to the families who just lost their SEAL father and or husband so we can help those families that are in need of assistance during this difficult transition.
- The Navy SEAL Foundation Provides for all SEAL’s Families:
- Tragedy assistance for families who have lost a loved one in training or combat.
- Support family events to uphold morale and camaraderie.
- Award scholarships and provide educational assistance to active duty personnel, their spouses, and children.
- Additionally, to ensure the contributions of these elite warriors are always remembered, recognized, and documented for future generations, they strive to preserve the rich history and heritage of the NSW community. Since their inception in 2000, the Naval Special Warfare Foundation has mourned the loss of many of our NSW warriors in the Global War on Terror, and in turn, they support their families and their teammates.

Hello Ropers
I just thought I'd let you know I have uploaded 13 new videos this week!!
I just thought I'd let you know I have uploaded 13 new videos this week!!
This Weeks News at Speedroping.com...
This week Clay Copper came to practice and I have loaded several videos of Clay and I's practice with slow motion breakdowns of Dillinger, Deone, Sheriff and Frisco. Clay heeled on LC and Randy in the practice session I had on Sheriff. I have loaded several practice videos with all my head horses and talk about upcoming "Odessa" and the challenges of that arena. Hot Heels has made a prototype of a new added feature for heelers, that came from my idea of a drill for Jenn, I call it the "Jenn Stick". Right now it is ONLY in the making and not available yet. I have loaded a video of a sneak peak of the prototype and talk about the drill and how it will benefit a heeler. I have loaded a video for Fastback Ropes on their new Redline Rope and a also a video with a look at the Bloomer 5 horse trailer that I just got and where to get one.
